Prof. Dhaneshwar Sahoo: A Beacon of Knowledge, Reason, and Humanity
Prof. Dhaneshwar Sahoo, affectionately known as “Dhaneshwar Bhai,” is one of the distinguished personalities whose life and work bring immense pride to the Bhuban High School family.
Born in Bhuban, Dhenkanal, Prof. Sahoo has carved a remarkable journey as a renowned scholar of philosophy, thoughtful columnist, Gandhian, philanthropist, and a dedicated advocate of rational thinking and human values. His lifelong commitment to knowledge, truth, simplicity, and service reflects the very values that education seeks to nurture.
His influence extends far beyond the classroom. Through his writings, scholarship, and public engagement, he has inspired generations to think deeply, question superstition, embrace reason, and uphold humanity. Many of his students have themselves gone on to become respected academics and professors, carrying forward the intellectual legacy he helped shape.
A particularly proud moment for the Bhuban High School Alumni family came on 28 November 2025, when Prof. Dhaneshwar Bhai was honored at a national seminar organized at Udayanath Autonomous College of Science and Technology, focusing on the writings of Mahatma Gandhi and Dr. B. R. Ambedkar through the lens of Prof. Dhaneshwar Bhai.
The presence of distinguished professors and academics, many of whom had once been his students, and the respect they expressed towards their teacher was deeply moving. Witnessing such recognition was not only an honor for him but also a moment of immense pride for Bhuban and for Bhuban High School.
His journey reminds us that the true measure of an alumnus is not merely professional achievement but the knowledge shared, lives touched, values upheld, and positive difference made to society.
